Sunday 7 June ZADAR to NIN

A frenzied cacophony of bells as it's Sunday , but a lovely awakening

......we have a very slow and modest breakfast outside where we checked in and then load up the bikes and head off to NIN, about 10 miles or so away. Searingly hot already as we set off. After a few miles there's a nice smooth cycle track next to the road and we arrive at NIN where we find a lovely sandy beach and a perfect spot in the shade of some tamarisk. The beach looks towards the barren rocky outcrop of Pag Island, where we will be cycling back along - no shade there by the looks of it! Cherries and apricots and local cheese for picnic lunch and then we cover ourselves like the locals in the slightly evil smelling mud from the lagoon behind us ( see photos). A reviving bet in the old town before we make our way back over the boardwalk across the lagoon and then back via the scenic coastal route to Zadar. We have booked at Foca tonight , a swanky sea food restaurant by the harbour, where we ate last year.
